Saunas-Its benefits and precautions

It feels so good if after a hectic schedule someone gives you a royal treatment in the form of
Saunas. One can use saunas as relaxing and leisure products. Without wasting much of our time
lets come to the main point here i.e. what is saunas and how does it work:
The temperature which is maintained in saunas makes your body sweat which helps in cleansing of The skin and sweat glands. Since most of the perspiration happens through skin on account of it being the largest organ in the body. So most of the waste passes through this. So the temperature at which the saunas or steam baths is given is maintained to be 40 degree Celsius While the internal body temperature rises to about 38 degree Celsius. The heart also causes the blood vessels to expand the blood in order to accommodate increased Blood flow... In this way while lying down under the treatment one can experience the benefits Of exercise also as the exercise also helps in improving the heart rate thus the blood flow. The saunas are helpful in the treatment of Arthritis too.

Thus it seems that the dry heat treatment under saunas is helpful for our health in many folds.But according to the doctors the heart patients should consult with their doctors before going for saunas. Moreover those suffered with abnormal heart rates, heart valve diseases, Unstable angina, irregular blood pressure should also avoid taking steam baths.


Few precautions are their which has to be taken while taking saunas like avoid using alcohol and medicines before and after taking saunas. The saunas bath should not be taken more than 15-20 minutes. Drink sufficient amount of water to cool your body inside.

care of skin during pregnancy

Pregnant woman should not only take good care of her health but also for her skin also. Body goes through a lot of hormonal changes during pregnancy which affect the skin and hair also. So these should also be cared about.

Few Skin care tips:

(1)During pregnancy wrinkles, develop on the skin. To avoid this Vitamin ‘E’ rich cream should be applied on the face. This is for dry skin ladies but if your skin is oily then should avoid using oil based cream instead wash your face 3-4 times at least in a day. As oily face develop pimples so keeping it dry and clean should be the first step in the facial care.

(2) Get regular facial done. This brings shining on the face and the same time you will feel relaxed also.

(3) Drink lot of water because this removes the toxins from your body and maintains.
(4) Apply ultra based sunscreen before leaving home. This prevents the skin from the harmful effects of sun.
(5) During pregnancy stretch marks get developed on stomach, thighs, back, which reduces the beauty. This happens because of the weight gain. To avoid this massage your skin with good quality oil daily.

It is said that giving birth to a baby is a kind of incarnation. She has to go through a huge pain while delivering a baby. So in order to keep the same mental and physical fitness which one had pre delivery then post delivery yoga exercises should be involved in life style.

Careless Attitude Towards your Health

This is a very old saying that if you do not posses a good health then you can not enjoy any happiness of the world. So it becomes our utmost responsibility to look after this so that our body machine can run smootly. Sometimes even wrong medication can be proved fatal. I want to narrate an incident here to provoe this. A small disease if not diagnosed on time can be result into a disaster. I experienced this when I went through this. Since last many days I had been suffereing with an acute headache, dental pain and throat pain as well. My whole body was not being able to work and my mind could just not get concentrated. I started taking 2-3 dispirins daily but all in vein. First time in my entire life I was going through such pain. I was not able to sleep in the night. The entire day I used to work in the office and I was not getting enough good night sleep. I went to one of our local doctor first. He presecribed few medicines including ipbrufin and other tablets. I took them but could not bear the pain. It was getting very difficult for me to do any thing at home and office as well. The medicines that I took from that doctor could bring not change in the pain and I was feeling the same as before. Then one day I took a break from office hours and went to the E&T doctor. He said you should have not taken ipbrufin and other tablets in excess. Actually the previous doctor had prescribed me 3 ipbrufin in a day. I took new prescription from this E&T doctor. He gave new medicines names. When I reached home then I had started motions and in the stools only blood was coming out. It happened for 4-5 times. Then around 9:30 pm I and my hubby went to a Gynaecologist. She said that it was ulcer that had happened to my stomach and if not preventive measures taken then that could be resulted into disaster. She gave me few tablets and told them to taken one on each day for consecutive three days. I took that and then everything was fine. I am very thankful to that doctor. Had I not been to her, I would have done not well to me.
From that incident I can only advice everyone that we should not take any medicine in excess. The medicines should be taken under a supervision of a qualified physician only. Otherwise a small disease can cause you threat to life. I am still feeling the weakness in the whole body. My thighs and legs are aching so much that I am not being able to sit and stand for a long. I could not walk much otherwise my waist, stomach and legs are starting to get tired. I am just terrified from the though of that incident that if we had not been to that Gynaecologist then what would have happen. But it’s saying that all is well when end’s well. So it’s my daughter’s fate that has mad me survive again. I love you dear.

Can Television affect your Health?

In today’s world when there are so many means of communication, television has become one of the strongest and effective means of entertainment and communication. In today’s place it has taken a place of like family member. It has extended its roots to many homes and everyone seems to be getting addicted to this.
But has anyone given a thought what negative this television is doing on one’s health or mind. You must be surprised that regular watch of television could do the harm to your health. A recent British report has pointed out towards this cause. According to the British Social Attitudes report, only 43 percent of those who said they were regular viewers claimed they are in good state of health. While in the same survey nearly 59 percent people who use to watch television rarely rated themselves as healthy.
The reason behind this is not solid and yet proved. But this can be seen in the way that your health major depends upon the fact that how active you are mentally and physically. While watching television one’s physical activities get reduced and he remains seated in a place for a long time. If one avoids sitting in a place and moves his body in between then his body can remain active. You can rotate your hands, shoulder also at the same time. You can add up few exercises also while watching television like rotating your hands, shoulders. At the same time can do your household chores also like cutting vegetables, meals preparation etc?
So in the ends it can be said that no means of entertainment is harmful. The way how you use it is responsible for your health. If you overly indulge yourself in any such activities than the end results can be known in advance.

We are advising you few activities here that you can involve in your daily life while watching television. Few of these are:
(1) Just stand erect. Rotate your arms in clockwise direction. Do it for 20 times. Then repeat the same in anti-clockwise direction. This way you can do hands exercise.
(2) Stand straight. Take your right leg and lift it at 45 degrees. Put it back. Repeat the same with the left leg. Do this for at least 5 times.
(3) Put your both hands in your waist. Rotate your waist in clockwise direction first then in anti-clockwise direction. Do this for 10 times at least.
(4) You can add breathing exercises too like deep inhaling and exhaling through lungs.

These are few only while the list is a long. You can add many others likes skipping, jogging etc. also depending upon your preferences. Do whatever but don’t sit in a place for a long time. Just do remember this thing that in a long runs its only health that will help you. If health is not there then nothing can be proved beneficial to you.

Can Television Really effects you:

Last time I had written on the harmful effects of television. This blog of mine is in continuity of that only. Later when I sat and read that, I realised that you can not blame one thing totally for the harm that has been caused to you. I had written about the effects that it can cause on society and one’s health both physically and mentally as well. But now today I want to write something in favour of this television.

Since a long time back, it has been human wish to conquer the world, to create something that not only create a feeling of closeness with rest of the world but can be helpful in his boring time.

Television is that strong electronic means of communication. This is made up of tele and vision two words. Tele means distant and vision is something related to view or see. So if say then it means seeing something distant. If you switch on television then you will find so many news channels. These channels can connect you with the world in no time. While sitting at one place you will feel like the world has come to your foot and you are roaming round the universe. There are so many news channels which display the current happenings in the world.

Other than this there are some knowledge spreading channels like Animal Kingdom, National Geographic, and Discovery Channels. These channels broadcast series of animals, nature and that period also when we were not born. We get to know many species which used to exist ever but now have vanished. Their vanishing is still a point of curiosity.

Everyone knows the love of kids towards cartoons. So television has captured their interest and launched so many channels which display cartoons. Many characters like Tom and Jerry, Mickey Mouse, Scooby, Ten Ben all have housed themselves in kids rooms. They have become best friends of kids.

Then who can forget the interesting serials of women and specially housewives. In India itself television has captured this interest and have started showing so many serials all those which are women oriented. Few of them are which had been very popular and created history in the Indian cinema are “Kyonki Saas Bhi kabhi Bahu Thi”, “Kahanai Ghar Ghar Ki.” Etc. Who can forget the characters like “Baa”, “Parvati”, “Tulsi ” in those serials who not only put the moral values in youngsters but also gave importance to the modern changes that modern society needs.
We get to see many health related Ads and serials which tell us that what should we do while emergency or fitness tips also. Television provides us information on weight loss, body training, child care, beauty care etc.

These are very few advantages of Television as if we see then there are too many others also.

Winter

The cool breeze is flowing!! The air has got chilled...... The sun has got lazy and now starting rising late. The world is sleeping in the morning as if it is evening... No one wants to wake up early in the morning and leave the world. This is because the winter has approached. There is a sudden change in the atmosphere. The air is getting chilled and people have started using blankets and sweaters.
The market gets loaded with different styles and fashions of sweaters, pull overs , scarfs. With time the trend of using fashionable woolean items has increased and peple have started giving a try to funky items also.
One of the advantage of winters is that the vegetables and other perishable things to not get spoiled easily and you can keep them outside also unlike summers where you have to keep them in the refrigerators at a low temperature to avoid spoiling. But on the other hand the food prepared to eat also gets cooled very fast which needs to be warmed again.
One should take care of his health as the sudden change in the weather can cause many diseases like cold, cough etc. So try not to take warm water bath all of a sudden or do not eat anything cold much as that can cause infection.

Fasting should not be starving!!

I have been doing fasting for a long time. I started this as a faith in my goddess lakshmi. Before marriage I used to fast only few occassions like janamasthmi and navratri. Other than this i n ever gave importance to weekly fasting which many hindu people do. I felt the need for this after 3 years of marriage when we started facing financial problems in our relationship. I started doing fasts on every friday of each week. I started this as I thought this would help me out in solving many of my problems. Often one starts fasting for the sake of loosing weight. But this is not a correct step. As fasting can bring down a loss in the muscles but it causes serious problems with the immunity system of body. This is because while fasting one lacks the important nutrients in his body and eat few things which lack the energy. Fasting is done for many reasons also like ritual one. One starts fasting on few days like monday or friday etc. That is fine. If it is done a day or two in a week then that is fine as fasting is considered good for body also if it is done rarely. While fasting stay away from oily, coffeine etc. Take water and fruits as this cleanses the body and flushes away the toxins from the body. So do fasting but wisely.
