Our nature is available of so many fruits. We can see red colour, yellow colour, bog, small, sweet, sour all kind of fruits. Fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients, minerals. We should try to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in a day. A serving is equal to one cup of fruits or vegetables. Fruits and vegetables have high content of antioxidants, minerals. The fruits provide energy and boost to our body. It is advised to take fruit as a whole instead of eating it full. The other benefit of eating it whole is that it provides fibre to the body.
The fruits and vegetables build up body immunity. There are around 12, 000 phytochemicals in fruits. The different colours also define the role of the fruit to fight different stress in the body. Fruits and vegetables also supply water to the body and fibre to the body.

Red Colour: Tomatoes, watermelon, carrot fall in this category of food. These foods contain many phytochemicals that reduce free radical damage. The main phytochemical available is lycopene. It is the presence of lycopene only which makes the red food colour red. Eating red food prevents us from the harmful effects of sunlight and also makes iron in the blood.
Orange Colour: Oranges, Papaya, green beas etc. fall in this category of yellow/orange foods. These foods are rich source of vitamin C which helps us to fight diseases. They also help in the normal working of the heart.
Green Foods: White and Green foods come in this category. Onions, garlic etc. come in this category. They are anti fungal in nature and work as antibiotic.
